Epic News! NY Times Best Seller & USA Today Best Seller!

Hello!

If you're a regular follower of the YA Muses, then you know that Thursday is my day. I had planned to write a post last night to tell you about what I've been reading (WARM BODIES) but then I got a call from my editor that went like this:

Editor: V, I have the best news ever to share with you!

Me: (silence)

Editor: THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT is number six on the New York Times list!

Me: What?

Editor: (repeats previous statement)

Me: I can't feel my body. I can't feel anything. I can't....

Editor: Congratulations!

Me: (mumble mumble mumble. Incoherent thanks to my editor, for being a HUGE part of what she just said.)

Editor: Go, celebrate!

___

It just so happened that my parents were over at the time. My husband was home. My kids, too. Everyone who I needed to be there, coincidentally, magically, was there.

We stared at each other for a few minutes. Each of the adults took turns trying to explain to my kids what this meant, using various sports analogies. And then I made a few very teary phone calls to my brothers and friends and finally just rocked in a corner for a while, going REALLY? REALLY?

A short while later, I received the news that TTEN also made the USA Today Best Seller list, which just about knocked me out.

To say that this is a dream come true would be false. I didn't even let myself dream about this. It was something that happened to other people. And it still very much feels that way.

I don't know what to do with myself. Will it ever sink in? I don't know. Maybe. Hopefully at least a little, so I can get my brain back. I'd like to start writing again, and that would easier with a brain.

Anyway, thank you Muses for sharing this amazing journey with me. And thank you, readers, for your support. I'm so very grateful!

*Cheers*

Veronica, As you know all of us Muses (and followers) are SO SO SO proud of you. As much as this is a dream come true, it's more so hard-work-and-smart-determination come to life.

Bravo! And keep 'em coming!

Screaming and jumping around! So excited for you, and for EVER NIGHT and just- all of it!!!

I haven't stopped smiling and giggling since the news broke. So excited for you, V! And I'm so glad you had your loved ones with you to celebrate!

Let me add my congratulations here, Veronica!

You worked so hard and deserve such great things, not only for that hard work but for being an awesome, generous soul.

Here's to more great news for you and ALL the Muses!

Congratulations, Veronica!

How wonderful that all the people you would have wanted with you at such a moment miraculously were there. I can imagine the glorious delight of disbelief that followed the call, and the shrieks of joy that ensued thereafter. Hope you celebrated with a very large bottle of champagne! xxxs

Congratulations!!! Truly celebrate all your hard work and stamina and creativity, Veronica. Way to go! And thanks for sharing as you all rocket along, I know I'm not the only reader who appreciates the time The Muses put in with their posts. Wonderful news!

As I may have mentioned once or twice, I am just so thrilled for you!!! I'm so glad your family was there (and too funny about the sports analogies, my husband uses those to explain publishing a lot, too). ;-) Hope you're able to let it sink enough to celebrate!!! :D

So proud of you. Your hard work and your hard passion are paying off. And you deserve it!

HUGE congratulations, Veronica! And well-deserved!

I've got a huge smile on my face! Excellent news and I'm glad that your family was around to help celebrate, makes the news even more special. :) Congratulations again for being a superb writer who knows how to work a manuscript like a rock star!
