A Blast from the Past
Well, HELLO there, everybody.
It's me: Bret.
Bret...Bret Ballou.
Tall, dark, handsome, talented, witty...c'mon, you remember.
Joking aside: It's been FOREVER since you've heard anything (original) for me. Well--as many of you may know--I have a decent excuse. A 7 lbs. 11 oz, 19 inch excuse that was born on March 8 and thrown my world into an enjoyable, sleepy chaos. Adding to that bundle was a new role at my day job and a two-year-old running around and I'm lucky if I had time / energy to read a blog, much less post anything worth reading. And between us, and this is only because I trust you not to judge me too harshly, but I wasn't even writing in the last few months. I know, I know.
Now that the weighty confession is over, I wanted to let you know that my feet are on ground that's about as firm as a bog, but ground nonetheless, and I'm hoping to pick up where we left off. I'll do my best to add something to the week's discussion without rehashing (too much) the brilliant Muses before me. Anyhow, that's all I wanted to say this week...
Thanks so much for being patient for me and double thanks to the other Muses (Hi, Katherine!) for covering me during my absence.

Congratulations, you will sleep again someday...
What a beautiful baby! Hope you get some sleep!
Kids do have a way of becoming a priority. Even if you're not producing as many words, it's still good to know that you're ... productive in other ways. Patience always!
